The Armed Forces Nursing Services (AFNS) is a prestigious, all-female joint military branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces that provides specialized medical care to personnel and their families across the Army, Navy, and Air Force. To join, candidates must typically be unmarried females aged 17–25 with an FSc (Pre-Medical) background, passing a selection process including intelligence and academic tests. Selected individuals undergo a 4-year BSc Nursing program at elite military hospitals like AFPGMI or CMHs. Upon successful completion, candidates are immediately commissioned as Lieutenants, enjoying a high-status career with full military benefits, rank progression, and the opportunity to serve the nation on the frontlines of healthcare.

Course Prerequisites

Eligibility Conditions

Age: 17 to 25 Year as on 1st November 2027

Gender: Female

Qualification: Matric with Science Minimum 60% Marks & FSc (Pre-medical) - 50% Marks Minimum

Weight: As per BMI

Eyesight: 6/6 with or without Glasses (-2.5 Tak Relaxation milti hai)

Marital Status: Unmarried

Candidates possessing foreign qualifications such as O-Level and A-Level etc will be required to obtain equivalance certificate and conversion of marks from inter board committee of chairman (IBCC), ministry of education, Islamabad and attach it with application form.

Candidates who have passed FSc Part-I examaination with minimum 50% marks and appeared in FSc Part-II/ Final examination can also apply on 'Hope Certificate' by the Head of the Institution. Such Candidates must deposit an attested copy of FSc Part-II certificate/ mark sheets to Personnel Administration Directorate(PA-3C) GHQ Rawalpindi within 5 days of announcement of result, otherwise their selection will not be processed further.

In-Eligibility Conditions

Candidates already registered with Pakistan Nursing Council.

Twice not recommended by the General Headquarters (GHQ) Selection Board.

Permanently declared Unfit by Appeal Medical Board(PUF by AMB). Declared Unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by appeal medical board.

Declared medically UNFIT due to Hepatitis B & C(Appeal Medical Board cannot be requested).

Enrolled cadets and recruits withdrawn/resigned/discharged from Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) training academies/institution on the ground of discipline, characters, medical inefficiency, weak profile or declared unsuitable.

An individual dismissed/removed from any other government service.

Convicted by a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
